Chris Adams

Chris Adams’ practice focuses on corporate reorganizations and restructurings, acquisitions of assets in bankruptcy, and creditors’ rights. He has experience representing large, publicly traded entities in their Chapter 11 cases and institutional and corporate creditors in some of the country’s largest Chapter 11 cases to date. His practice also includes general civil litigation in both federal and state courts as well as general business transactions. Chris’ clients have come to appreciate his zealous representation tempered by his practical approach to solving their legal and business problems.

Prior to forming Okin & Adams, Chris practiced at the law firms of Bracewell & Giuliani LLP, Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, and Sheinfeld, Maley & Kay, P.C. While practicing law at these firms, Chris gained experience in the fields of business reorganization, business transactions and general commercial litigation. Before beginning his law practice, Chris served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Wesley W. Steen of the United States Bankruptcy Court the Southern District of Texas.

Chris has been named a “Texas Rising Star” in surveys conducted by Texas Monthly magazine each year from 2005-2007 and one of Houston’s Top Lawyers by H Texas Magazine in 2013-2015.
