Johnie is an associate in the financial restructuring group at Okin Adams LLP, where she advises financially distressed companies and represents clients in matters related to bankruptcy. Johnie has experience representing debtors, creditors, committees, and other parties-in-interest in complex Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings across multiple industries, including energy, retail, and construction.
Outside of work, Johnie was selected to serve on the Houston Young Lawyers’ Association Leadership Academy, where she helped organize and implement a fundraiser for a local nonprofit. Johnie is also a member of the Houston chapter of Between the Covers Book Club; a book club with a focus on empowering and supporting women.
Johnie grew up in College Station, Texas and later received her Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in English from Texas A&M University. Johnie attended law school at the University of Houston Law Center where she, among other activities, participated in a transactional law clinic assisting startup businesses, interned for a state court judge for two semesters, and was a finalist in a negotiation competition.
