HOUSTON (January 1, 2017) – Okin Adams LLP welcomes David L. Curry to the partnership as a Partner of the Firm.  This promotion coincides with Okin Adams ten year anniversary.

David Curry joined Okin Adams in March 2015. A graduate of Tulane University School of Law, he has more than eight years of legal expertise.  Known for his creative problem solving, David has excellent business and client relationship skills. David has represented clients in a variety of bankruptcy and restructuring matters and commercial transactions. In addition to his restructuring experience, David has also handled complex commercial litigation for a variety of public and private companies. David’s prior representations include acting as counsel to the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors for In re Black Elk Energy Offshore Operations, LLC (S.D. Tex.), litigation counsel to post-confirmation trustee for In re Goldking Holdings, L.L.C., et al. (S.D. Tex.), litigation and appellate counsel for the post-confirmation creditors’ trust and for the trustee of a private action trust for In re Cryptometrics, Inc. (W.D. Tex.), and litigation counsel for the post-confirmation estate representative for In re Kitty Hawk, Inc., et al. (N.D. Tex.).  David has also served as counsel to the debtor in many chapter 11 bankruptcy cases, including In re Aziz Convenience Stores, L.L.C. (S.D. Tex.) and In re Winland Ocean Shipping Corporation, et al. (S.D. Tex.).

Last year, David was part of the team that won the 2016 TMA Mid-Size Transaction of the Year Award for the representation of the debtor in In re Aziz Convenience Stores, L.L.C. (S.D. Tex.).

David is admitted to all districts of the Federal Courts in Texas and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.  He is a member of the Houston Bar Association and the Turnaround Management Association.
